The Municipality of Karpathos Choir will travel to Katerini

The Municipality of Karpathos Choir will travel to Katerini in northern Greece to participate in an International Choral Festival. It will be held on December 12-13th and is the 13th such international choral festival that is organized by the Municipality of Katerini. It is the first time that a choir from our area participates in an international choral festival. This event promotes Katerini and choral music which is used as a catalyst to strengthen the bond between the participants. Other choral festival participants will be from: Bulgaria, Italy, Serbia, Cholargos Athens, Corinthos, Larisa and two choirs from the Municipality of Katerini.

The Municipality of Karpathos Intellectual Center Choir will perform:

•   Traditional Karpathian Christmas carols under the guidance of Elias Vasilaras accompanied by Karpathian musical organs.

•   Byzantine era Christmas carols.

• The Christmas song 'Mia Efchi' (a wish) written entirely by the conductor of the choir, Mrs. Moschoula Vardaouli.

• Traditional Christmas carols from the Dodecanese area.
