Getting Around Karpathos

In Karpathos there are many ways to visit the different locations on the island. Public transportation is offered to most all of the villages and most popular beaches.Bus fares are collected by the bus driver, when the bus is entered. The main bus station is in Pigadia. Keep in mind that busses will stop anywhere you wave at the driver.

Car and four-wheel drive rentals are a popular way to see the sights of each island. some rental companies rent motorcycles and automobiles on the island. 

Taxis are available on the island. Rates are based on destination instead of mileage. You can call a taxi or flag one down on the street. The main taxi station is in Pigadia. Surcharges often apply for extra luggage to and from the airport or harbor.
